Deputies Seize More Than $800K In Marijuana Plants During La Puente Bust

LA PUENTE (CBSLA.com) — A drug bust at a La Puente home led to the confiscation of nearly $1 million in marijuana, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said Thursday.

Deputies discovered the illegal narcotics while serving a search warrant Wednesday morning in the 500 block of Chatterton Avenue, officials said.

"Upon serving the warrant, deputies found indoor Marijuana grow, which contained over 350 plants at various stages of growth," Sgt. Rich Pena said.

Several pieces of hydroponic equipment, including high intensity lights, fans, blowers and ducting were also seized.

The street value of the narcotics is estimated at more than $800,000, according to authorities.

No arrests have been made, but deputies have identified several suspects who were allegedly involved in the operation, which remains under investigation.
