1 Injured In Fiery Crash On 10 Freeway In City Terrace

CITY TERRACE (CBSLA.com) —At least one person was injured Thursday when a vehicle caught on fire after a collision on Interstate 10.

Authorities received a call just after 9:25 a.m. about the two-vehicle accident near Soto Street in City Terrace.

An off-duty firefighter pulled the victim out of the vehicle that became completely engulfed in flames.

The victim suffered critical burns and was transported to a local hospital, authorities said. The fire captain who saved the victim received first and second degree burns, fire officials said.

All eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 between Interstate 5 and Soto Street were shut down for more than an hour. All lanes were reopened by 10:55 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

No further details were released.
