POMONA (CBSLA.com) — Two sheriff’s deputies and a civilian were rescued from their vehicles following a collision in Pomona Thursday night.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Temple Avenue and Valley Boulevard at 10:13 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The deputies were airlifted to County-USC Medical Center after they were rescued from a patrol car with the Jaws of Life.

The civilian, who was driving a pick-up truck, was freed from another vehicle and transported to the hospital via ambulance.

A spokesperson for the sheriff’s department told City News Service the patrol car was responding to a crash and had its emergency lights and siren on when the collision occurred.

The extent of the victims’ injuries remains unknown.
