TEMECULA (CBSLA.com) — A 6-year-old boy was killed Sunday in an alcohol-related crash, officials said.

The accident happened around 5 p.m. at the intersection of Main and Pujol streets in Temecula, the Riverside County Fire Department said.

The unidentified boy reportedly ran into the street from behind a parked car when he was hit by a vehicle driven by 25-year-old Bradley Megginson Jr.

The boy was transported to a local hospital where he died, police said.

Megginson, of Temecula, was not injured in the crash and was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.

He is being held on $75,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.
