Greater Alarm Fire At Pasadena Strip Mall Causes $1M In Damage
PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — A greater alarm fire at a strip mall in Pasadena caused about $1 million in damage to the structure and several surrounding businesses, authorities said Sunday.
The fire erupted about 4:30 a.m. at Fair Oaks Avenue and Peoria Street, according to Pasadena Fire Department spokeswoman Lisa Derdarian.

Derdarian told KNX 1070 Newsradio that firefighters went into "surround the ground" mode following a partial roof collapse.
Attacking the blaze from both the roof and ground, firefighters had the fire knocked down about 2 hours later.
No injuries were reported.
Reporting for CBS2, Greg Mills said it's believed the fire started at a furniture store.
In all, three businesses, including the furniture store, are considered total losses.
