Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Sept. 12)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Look for another mild day.

The cut-off low and trough responsible for the cooler weather has moved slightly and it is enough to reduce our marine layer coverage this morning.  That's going to translate into a slight warm up today with highs still below the seasonal averages.

By tomorrow the marine layer will shrink a bit more and our temperatures will warm a few degrees.  Basin temps should bump into the mid 80s, valleys will hover near 100 for Friday, Saturday, and probably Sunday.

The high pressure that will bring some warmer temperatures for the weekend breaks down on Monday.  Then you can expect another trough to move into the west coast and this one becomes a bit more persistent.

This will translate into cooler weather for the extended forecast and probably some gusty Northwest winds.

Basin - low 80s

Beaches - low 70s

Valleys - mid 90s

Mountains - low 70s

Deserts - mid 90s
