Duncan Carlisle (Dylan McDermott) is an FBI agent who we meet as he brings a successful end to a hostage crisis at a bank.
Dr. Ellen Sanders (Toni Collette) is one of the nation’s premiere surgeons – so elite that she is selected to operate on the President of the United States.
The night before the President’s operation, Carlisle takes the Sanders family hostage in their home and makes the chilling demand that the President must die.
This new Jerry Bruckheimer drama thrusts Collette’s character into the impossible moral dilemma of choosing between her family, and committing a heinous crime.
“The audience is never going to know where the show is going,” McDermott said. True to that statement, we see Dr. Sanders take control to try and save her family. We witness her husband and teenage children’s secrets unravel. And we learn the personal tribulations behind the traitorous Carlisle’s actions.
