Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Sept. 9)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Monday is going to look a lot like Sunday, however it will be just a little bit cooler.

Temps are pulling back from the extreme heat we had last week, with a stronger on-shore flow.  Look for our daytime highs to hover near or slightly below seasonal averages in downtown Los Angeles.

Inland residents will notice the cool down more than most.  Inland residents off to the east will also notice the possibility of mountain and desert thunderstorms through the middle of the week.

However, Thursday and Friday, the monsoonal flow shifts away from the Los Angeles area.  Otherwise a fairly benign forecast for the long term.

Temps hovering in the middle 80s.  There will be a little warm up next weekend.

Basin - low to mid 80s

Beaches - upper 70s

Valleys - upper 90s

Mountains - low 70s

Deserts - near 100
