Body Of 20-Something Man Found In Ventura County Orchard Is Possible Murder

SOMIS (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a body discovered by field workers in an orchard in Somis Saturday morning is likely the victim of foul play.

The man's body was found about 8:15 a.m. along the 4000 block of Price Road.

The unidentified man is believed to be in his early 20s, said officials.

Detectives were on scene collecting evidence and volunteers with the Sheriff's Search and Rescue Squad assisted with combing the area.

Officials were treating the death as a homicide until the medical examiner's office can determine the exact cause of death.

Authorities are asking anyone who was in the area late Friday night or early Saturday morning to contact Detective Jose Lopez at (805) 384-4723.

Ventura County Crimestoppers will pay up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and criminal complaint against the person(s) responsible for this crime.
