Burglary Suspect Surrenders After Four-Hour Standoff In Riverside Home
RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — A burglary suspect Friday surrendered to officers after a four-hour standoff at a Riverside home.
The Riverside Police Department received a call around 7:45 a.m. stating a man was cutting window screens and apparently attempting to break in to a neighbor's home on Marlborough Avenue between Chicago and Laurel avenues, officials said.
The man ran into the home and barricaded himself as officers arrived, police said.
SWAT was called to the scene and a perimeter was set up around the residence.
As officers prepared to enter the house shortly after noon, the suspect surrendered exited with his hands up and surrendered.
It was unclear if he was armed.
