San Bernardino Ranked As Worst City For Food Lovers

SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — The city of San Bernardino was ranked as the worst place in America for food lovers, according to a real estate blog.

CBS2's Adrianna Weingold reported that Movoto Real Estate's survey looked at per capita dining options in the nation's 100 most populous cities, taking into consideration everything from restaurants to bakeries.

Local restaurant owners defended the cuisine San Bernardino has to offer.

"Our food is always fresh. We use all fresh products. We make everything new every day," said Irene Montano, the owner of Mitla Café.

Noyes Bakery has been a community staple for 88 years.

"I don't go to any other places but San Bernardino," said owner David Ortiz.

Lola Reid-Denham, the owner of Iron Horse Café, said business is exceeding expectations.

"I think there are a lot of food options in San Bernardino. Mexican food is the core of food in San Bernardino. I think it's some of the best Mexican food you can get," she said.

Residents said San Bernardino can satisfy a person's craving, they just have to know where to look.

"I think if you are from the area, you would know what locations to go to," said Ilene Flores.

Other cities to make the least appetizing list included El Paso, Texas, north Las Vegas and Detroit.
