Angels Flight Railcar Jumps Tracks In Downtown LA

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — An Angels Flight railcar jumped its tracks Thursday in downtown Los Angeles.

The accident was reported just after 9:20 a.m. at 351 S. Hill St. between Third and Fourth streets, according to authorities.

Six people were assisted by firefighters off the car, but no injuries were reported.

The railcar is one of two Angels Flight cable cars that run along what is known as "the shortest railway in the world".

It reopened March 15, 2010 after an accident in 2001 prompted a nine-year closure when one person was killed and seven others were injured.

The cause of Thursday's incident was unknown.
