Police Arrest Suspect In Murder Of Hollywood Man

HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Los Angeles police arrested a 22-year-old suspect for the murder of a man in Hollywood, officials announced Tuesday.

KNX 1070's Claudia Peschiutta reports Julio Caesar Velasquez, of Los Angeles, was arrested Monday morning, a short time after a fatal stabbing in the 2000 block of North Highland Avenue.

According to the LAPD, Velasquez was involved in an dispute with a 29-year-old Hispanic man in front of hotel.

"During the argument, Velasquez stabbed the victim," police said.

The unidentified victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

"Officers searched the area and took Velasquez into custody a short distance from the crime scene," officials said.

He was being held on $1 million bail.
