The leak at the Saputo Cheese USA plant located at 5711 East Imperial Highway was reported around 5 a.m., according to Los Angeles County Fire Department officials.

A hazardous materials team arrived on scene shortly after 6:25 a.m. and were working to ensure the leak - believed to be in the plant's refrigeration system - was plugged, officials said.

Two additional people complained of side effects from the leak, but they were not hospitalized.
