Authorities ID Man Killed While Running Across 110 Freeway In LA
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities have identified a 59-year-old man who was killed while walking on the 110 Freeway Sunday.
The L.A. County Coroner’s Department say the victim was Gonzalo Alonzo Mercado, of Los Angeles.
Mercado was walking running across the northbound lanes at around 4:05 a.m. when he was hit by a white Chevy Camaro and pronounced dead at the scene, according to CHP Officer Patrick Kimball.
The driver in the Camaro immediately pulled to the right shoulder and waited for the arrival of the CHP, according to the department statement. He was not injured.
