Sheriff: Man Found Dead In Montebello Street Fell Off Moving Car

MONTEBELLO (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a man whose body was found in a Montebello street, alongside another injured young man, fell off a car they were riding on, according to a statement released Tuesday.

David Christopher Lugo, 21, was found dead in the 100 block of North Third Street Monday morning. Another man, whose name was withheld, was hospitalized with head injuries.

Lugo was part of a group of friends hanging out together when several of them climbed atop a friend's car. As the car drove down the street, three of the riders fell off, according to sheriff's Sgt. Diane Hecht.

Investigators believe the death and injuries to the victims appear to be the result of a tragic accident, Hecht said.
