40-Acre Brush Fire Extinguished Above Azusa

AZUSA (CBSLA.com) — A brush fire broke out Tuesday afternoon above Azusa at the bottom of San Gabriel Canyon.

About 100 Los Angeles County firefighters, along with water-dropping helicopters, battled the 40-acre blaze, which was first reported around 2:50 p.m. at Fish Canyon and El Encanto Parkway.

The U.S. Forest Service was also helping in the firefight.

The blaze was extinguished in about 90 minutes.

No structures were threatened.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
