Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Aug. 21)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — We are still watching that cut off low travel up the coast.

As it shifts to the north, we will see our temperatures pop up just a bit.

Even with the slightly warmer weather, we will remain below average, especially as you get closer to the beach and the marine influence.

Expect low clouds this morning and hazy sunshine this afternoon.

The chances for thunderstorm development will diminish over the next couple of days, but by the weekend, there is some indication we could get a surge of tropical moisture. We will have to keep our eyes on that development.

Otherwise, temps will actually back down a little bit into the weekend.

By next week, we will get a little closer to average, but still below the mid 80s.

Basin - low to mid 80s

Beaches - mid 70s

Valleys - upper 90s

Mountains - upper 70s

Deserts - upper 90s
