ORANGE (CBSLA.com) — Chapman University’s traditional ‘Undie Run’ has gone viral thanks to a provocative student music video.

More than 350,000 people have viewed the video, made by a handful of students at the private Christian-affiliated university on a $30 budget.

Shot backwards during the school’s biannual ‘Undie Run’, the video shows a young man undressing in the streets amid fellow scantily clad co-eds and set Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’.

“We were trying to do like a very literal concept of ‘get lucky’,” said Anthony Westlake, who stars in the video. The video ends as a young woman escorts a shirtless Westlake to her bedroom.

“Everybody knows the saying ‘sex sells’,” said filmmaker Daniel Burke. “And we were all surprised when this video got as big as it was.”

A representative from the university told KCAL9’s Stacey Butler she had not heard of any controversy surrounding the video.

The video has drawn few complaints from parents at the university, but online, comments are more colorful.

One commenter said “all universities are brothels.” Another described the video as “elitist, debaucherous heathenry”.

Asked if he was concerned that the video promoted promiscuity, Burke said “I definitely think it promotes it, but compared to the world’s standards our video doesn’t hold a candle.”

“If our video was shown 50 years ago, we’d probably be getting burned at the stakes right now,” he said. “But right now, I think people’s standards are just a lot lower.”
