Scenic Jogs And Lotus Flower Gazing At Echo Park
By Nicole Cormier
Tucked right in the heart of the city is a park that is both beautiful and functional, with a skyline view to boot. Echo Park Lake recently underwent a full renovation, and has become one of LA residents’ most beloved escapes.
For a fun-filled day at Echo Park, start with a long walk or jog on the path encircling the lake. Keep your eyes on the water so you don’t miss the majestic lotus flowers that are growing in certain sections. After a lap or two, explore the lake further by renting paddle boats at the boathouse. For other fitness opportunities, check out Echo Park’s recreation center for swimming, basketball, soccer, an indoor gym, tennis courts, children’s play area and more.
Keep in mind that Echo Park is quite popular due to location and the newly renovated lake, so for recreational enthusiasts that prefer privacy, opt to visit the park in off hours like mid-day during the week or early evenings. The concession stand is open year round from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to fill a famished belly after a rigorous jog.
Pack your workout gear, extra shoes, and all your workout buddies into a 2013 GL63 AMG SUV from Mercedes-Benz of Encino. The roomy comfort of a Mercedes-Benz SUV will ensure you and your passengers arrive safely, in style.
