Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Aug. 16)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — We are once again waking up to some patchy dense fog from the shallow inversion.

That cloud deck is rolling into the coastal plain.  However, the high pressure will dominate today and we may be able to get a daytime at the seasonal average.

It's been more than three weeks since that happened.

The result will be a warm day inland and comfortable day with hazy sunshine in the coastal plain.

Tomorrow will be similar, then another trough digs into the west coast on Sunday.

You can expect "Fogust" to return by next week.  The marine layer regime we have been dealing with for the latter half of July and most of August will dominate the beginning of the next work week.

Basin - mid 80s

Beaches - low 70s

Valleys - upper 90s to low 100s

Mountains - low 80s

Deserts - low 100s
