STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Chef Charlie Parker from Freddy Smalls + Kitchen visited KCAL9 Thursday to talk about the restaurant’s Backyard BBQ event, which takes place Aug. 18.
Parker showcased a summer garden panzanella – which will be at the event – using heirloom tomatoes, eggplant and summer squash, burrata, fried bread and basil.
The event will take place at Freddy Smalls, 11520 W. Pico Blvd., at 2 p.m. Sunday.
Menu highlights include grilled corn on the cobb with BBQ spiced butter, beer-steamed Maryland blue crab, grilled tri-tip, Texas toast and chimichurri, and roasted pork shoulder tacos.
Tickets include unlimited food and are $45 if purchased in advance and $55 if purchased at the door. You can purchase tickets at the restaurant or by calling (310)479-3000.
A beer truck with special drinks will also be at the event.
