La Crescenta Daycare Director Arrested After 2-Year-Old Girl Tests Positive For Pot

LA CRESCENTA (CBSLA.com) — The director of a La Crescenta daycare facility was arrested Wednesday after a 2-year-old girl in her care was found high on marijuana.

Roubena Hartounian, who runs Bina's Family Child Care out of her home in the 3200 block of Orange Avenue, was taken into custody on suspicion of child neglect and endangerment.

On Tuesday afternoon, the girl's parents noticed their child was lethargic when they picked her up from Hartounian's residence.

Later that night, they took her to the hospital, where tests confirmed pot was in her system.

The daycare was shut down after police discovered it had no power and there were rat droppings inside.

Hartounian, 50, posted a $100,000 bond Wednesday night.

She was scheduled to be arraigned Friday.
