Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Aug. 13)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Well the record remains. We still have not had an 80 degree reading downtown for 17 days.

The average high for August so far is 77.5 degrees.  I think that run will end this afternoon.

There are low clouds this morning, but the marine layer is thinning out.

The trough is lifting along the west coast and that will help to warm us up a little bit.

The gradual warm up will continue through the rest of this week with the warm temperatures peaking on Thursday.

By the weekend, the on-shore flow increases and low clouds will return along with cooler temperatures as well.

Basin - upper 70s to low 80s

Beaches - low 70s

Valleys - upper 80s to low 90s

Mountains - mid 70s

Deserts - mid 90s
