Crash Involving LAPD Motorcycle Officer Causes Delays On Interstate 10

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A traffic collision involving an LAPD motorcycle officer Tuesday prompted the closure of the transition road from the eastbound 10 Freeway to the northbound 110 Freeway.

The accident was reported at 7:56 a.m. on the eastbound side of Interstate 10 near downtown Los Angeles.

The two left lanes of the freeway were also closed as authorities investigated the crash, which reportedly took place when the officer's motorcycle collided with a silver Ford Taurus.

The officer sustained a leg injury and was transported to a local hospital, where he was listed in fair condition.

It was unknown if the driver of the Taurus was injured.

SKY2 was overhead as traffic could be seen backing up for at least a mile.

No other details were immediately available.
