Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Aug. 12)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Monday is going to start out a lot like yesterday with low clouds rolling inland.

The marine layer is just a bit thinner, but the on-shore remains in place and low clouds are sneaking into the valleys.

Our daytime highs should be similar to yesterday's into the upper 70s to upper 80s.  However, this week will be a little different as high pressure starts to build in.  That means a gradual warming trend all week long.

The marine layer will continue to shrink each morning.  The warm weather this weak will peak on Thursday and Friday as the high pressure center focuses on the Southwest.  Then another trough develops, cooling us off for the weekend and next week.

Basin - upper 70s to low 80s

Beaches - low 70s

Valleys - upper 80s to low 90s

Mountains - mid 70s

Deserts - mid 90s
