SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — A Santa Ana judge Friday sentenced a former armored car company employee in connection with three rapes in Orange County.

Jose Luis Capacete of Baldwin Park received 75 years to life in state prison.

Capacete was a police academy graduate and aspiring police officer. He formerly worked for Brinks security in Garden Grove.

Orange County Deputy District Attorney Keith Burke said that rather than upholding the law, Capacete broke it by raping three prostitutes.

"All the conduct involved prostitutes so basically they started as a consensual prostitution transaction but then once he got them to the designated location it turned forcible," Burke told KNX 1070's Mike Landa.

Landa reported that during questioning by police, Capacete confessed to one of the rapes. At the time, he reportedly stated, "I want to man up. I've been carrying this around with me."

One of the attacks occurred on Dec. 24, 2011. Two other victims were later identified, according to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.
