Mountain Fire 100 Percent Contained

IDYLLWILD (CBSLA.com)  — The Mountain Fire, which scorched 27,531 acres near Idyllwild since it broke out July 15, was fully contained Tuesday.

At its peak, the flames destroyed 23 structures, including seven residences, according to the U.S. Forest Service.

Investigators said the blaze was caused by an electrical equipment failure on private property.

The cost of the firefight was estimated to be more than $25.8 million.
