LAPD Officer Pleads No Contest To Child Molestation Charges
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A Los Angeles police officer Tuesday pleaded no contest to sexually molesting one girl and attempting to molest another.
Miguel Angel Schiappapietra Jr., 28, was arrested in May after he reportedly lured the two minors to his Castaic-area home, where he sexually assaulted them.
Officials said the girls lived in the same neighborhood as the suspect.
The six-year veteran of the force initially pleaded not guilty to two felony counts of committing a lewd act on a child under 14 years old.
Schiappapietra is expected to be sentenced to three years in state prison and ordered to register as a sex offender when he returns on Sept. 6.
