Bomb Squad Checks Out Suspicious Package Near Burbank Airport

BURBANK (CBSLA.com) — A suspicious package was found near the Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, authorities said Monday.

The item was reported around 10 a.m. at the corner of Winona and Hollywood Way, according to police.

Hollywood Way was closed between San Fernando and Thornton as a bomb squad investigated. The package was cleared around 11:45 a.m. and the road was reopened.

The airport remained open, but travelers were urged to use Sunland or Buena Vista to access the airport.
