Water Main Break Floods Streets In Mid-Wilshire Area

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A water main break early Friday morning flooded several blocks of a neighborhood in the mid-Wilshire District, officials said.

The eight-inch pipe broke around 12:45 a.m. in the 500 block of North Sycamore Avenue, the Department of Water and Power said.

About four to five blocks were flooded in each direction with water visible down to La Brea and Beverly Boulevard, officials said.

Approximately 20 to 30 residents were affected.

It was unclear what caused the main to break.
