Teen To Be Arraigned After Allegedly Robbing Senior, Elderly Men

PALMDALE (CBSLA.com) — A teen is scheduled to be arraigned Friday after allegedly robbing a 64-year-old man and a 93-year-old man on two separate occasions, sheriff's officials said.

The first incident occurred around 10 a.m. Monday in the 37700 block of Rudall Avenue.

The 93-year-old man was washing his truck in his driveway when two suspects, including 18-year-old Terrill Keith Clem, assaulted him and stole his wallet, authorities said.

The victim suffered a cut to his chin and injuries to his ribs.

The second robbery occurred at approximately 9:15 a.m. Wednesday in the 1600 block of East Avenue R-3.

The suspect reportedly approached a 64-year-old man who was standing in his driveway holding his wife's purse. Clem grabbed the purse and took off running, according to officials.

Palmdale Sheriff's deputies found Clem hiding in the bushes about one block from the victim's home. The purse and its contents were recovered.

During that investigation, officials determined Clem matched the description of one of the suspects in Monday's robbery, and he confessed to being involved in both incidents during an interrogation.

Clem was booked at the Palmdale Sheriff's Station and is being held on $100,000 bail.

The second suspect in Monday's incident, who may be involved in other robberies that target older victims, remains at large.

He is described as a Black man between the ages of 16 and 18.

Anyone with information about the second suspect or other related crimes is asked to contact Lt. C. Kennedy at (661)272-2506 or (661)272-2400. For those wishing to remain anonymous can call "LA Crime Stoppers" at 800-222-TIPS (8477) or texting TIPLA plus the tip to CRIMES (274637.
