BELLFLOWER (CBSLA.com) — Police say two people have been shot on the westbound Artesia (91) Freeway.
Officials have shut down all lanes, except for the carpool lane, while they investigate.
Witnesses said two men were firing at vehicles as they ran along the busy freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The two victims were in the same vehicle.
One victim was critical, another victim shot in the elbow, according to Juan Fernandez, reporting for CBS2.
A SigAlert has been declared, said CHP Officer Cheyenne Quesada.
Police said two cars collided. Officials said two men got out of one vehicle and began firing at two men in the other vehicle.
Authorities said the two shooters then fled on foot and then got into a passing SUV, a possible carjacking.
