BALDWIN PARK (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Friday continued to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man in the city of Baldwin Park.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Lt. Mike Rosson says a report of gunshots came in at approximately 1:15 a.m. at the intersection of Los Angeles Street and Merced Avenue.
Upon arriving on scene, Baldwin Park Police officers found the victim, identified as a male Hispanic in his 20s, the lieutenant said. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Lt. Rosson said preliminary information suggests that the incident is gang-related.
“There’s no witnesses that we can locate at this time that saw a vehicle. It’s possible it could have been a drive-by or a walk-up,” he said.
No further information was immediately available.
