Report: Lakers Plan To Make Run At LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony In 2014

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) Now that Dwight Howard is out of the picture, the Lakers could have money and roster space to play with following next season.

According to reports the Lakers plan to make a run at Miami's LeBron James and-or New York's Carmelo Anthony after the upcoming season.

Both James and Anthony have player options in the summer of 2014 and would become free agents if they opt out.

Only two players, Steve Nash and Robert Sacre, are on the Lakers books for the 2014-2015 season, meaning the team could try to land two max contract players.

In order for that to work though, Kobe Bryant would have to take a significant pay cut from the 30.5 million dollars he's set to make this season in the final year of his contract.
