ARLETA (CBSLA.com) — Police Wednesday released sketches of a suspect wanted in connection to a road rage incident that resulted in the shooting death of a 22-year-old driver.
The shooting happened just after 3 p.m. on July 13 as two cars passed under the 5 Freeway on Branford Avenue in Arleta, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
“According to witnesses, a single shot came from the green-eyed Hispanic driver of a gray Dodge Challenger as he passed the Kia on the right,” Detective Ryan Verna said in a statement. “Richard Eduardo Ruiz of North Hollywood was hit and died hours later at a local hospital.”
Ruiz’s two passengers were uninjured.
Detectives say the gray Dodge Challenger is an RT model with custom rims.
