LAPD Seeks Public's Help To Identify Suspects In Victorville Man's Murder

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Police Tuesday were asking for the public's help in identifying two murder suspects wanted in the death of a Victorville man.

Dejon Ward, 21, was found shot to death in his car around 12:45 p.m. on July 12 near Venice Boulevard and 12th Street in Arlington Heights, Los Angeles police said.

Ward was sitting in his vehicle in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven store when the shooter approached him on foot and fired several rounds into the vehicle, police said.

"He wasn't involved in any criminal activity. He was not armed. He did not become involved in a fight, he was not involved in even as much as an argument in this incident," Capt. Lillian Carranza said.

The alleged gunman and his accomplice then fled the scene in a silver Nissan Armada, according to surveillance video.

After Ward was shot, he tried to get help and drove onto Venice Boulevard before he crashed his vehicle into an apartment building, police said.

He was declared dead at the scene.

A motive for the shooting was unknown.

Anyone with information on the suspects should contact the Los Angeles Police Department.
