LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A robbery suspect was uninjured in an officer-involved shooting in downtown Los Angeles, according to authorities.

The police shooting at Central Avenue and east 2nd Street occurred around 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Police say they received a call of a robbery at an Office Depot store.

Upon arriving on scene, an officer shot out the back of the suspect’s sport utility vehicle, according to investigators.

The suspect was not struck.

He was taken into custody a short time later.
