Lawsuit Claims Murder In Calif. Mansion Death

SAN DIEGO (AP) — The family of a woman whose nude, bound body was found hanging in a California mansion has filed a $10 million lawsuit claiming she was murdered.

U-T San Diego reports the lawsuit was filed Friday in federal court by the family of 32-year-old Rebecca Zahau, whose July 2011 death was ruled a suicide. The suit was filed against Adam Shacknai and Dina Shacknai, the brother and ex-wife of Zahau's boyfriend Jonah Shacknai. Dina Shacknai's twin sister, Nina Romano, also was named in the suit.

The suit claims the three were responsible for Zahau's death, but doesn't provide any specific evidence against them. No criminal charges were filed.

Two days prior to Zahau's death, Dina Shacknai's son died after falling down stairs at the same mansion. His death was ruled accidental.
