Man Arrested In Kidnapping, Sexual Assault Of Canoga Park Mall Employee

CANOGA PARK (CBSLA.com) — A suspect has been arrested in the kidnapping and sexual assault of a 19-year-old woman on the Fourth of July, Los Angeles Police Department announced Friday.

Detectives arrested 19-year-old Kioki Ray Snowden Thursday at his Lancaster home.

The victim, an employee at the Westfield Topanga Mall, was leaving work around 5:30 p.m. July 4 when she was allegedly approached by the suspect, who forced her into her car at knifepoint and held her hostage for about three hours, police said.

During that time, the victim was sexually assaulted and forced to drive to multiple locations in the San Fernando Valley, Pasadena and downtown Los Angeles areas, according to officials.

Authorities say the suspect stole property from her and gained access to her bank account through her ATM card before he released her.

Snowden is being held on $1 million bail.
