Sheriff's Deputies Seek Armed Robber, Stolen Vehicle In Norwalk

NORWALK (CBSLA.com) — Los Angeles Sheriff's investigators Thursday were searching for an armed robber and a stolen vehicle in Norwalk.

Officials were called around 3:50 a.m. to the 15400 block of Longworth Avenue just a few blocks from Cerritos College.

The incident started when a 27-year-old man wanted to continue partying with two women late Wednesday night.

"They invited him back to a house in the area to continue the party and when he got to the location he was accosted by two males inside who tied him up and robbed him at gunpoint," LASD Capt. Curtis Jensen said.

The suspects, who reportedly stole the victim's wallet and vehicle, let him go just before 4 a.m. when he contacted authorities.

"We came to the location, surrounded the location and called the occupants out," Jensen said. "One of the males of the two male suspects tried to flee at that time and we caught and detained him."

The second suspect was able to get away.

Some neighbors were evacuated as investigators conducted a search of the area.

Sharon Cupid-Irwin and her husband have lived on Longworth Ave. for 25 years and since the neighbors moved in less than a year ago she has seen law enforcement at the house three times.

"We see people going in and out of there all hours of the night, so that's why we think it may be a drug house," she said.

Officials believe the suspect is driving the stolen 2007 four-door blue Honda Accord with a customized California license plate, IM40YKE.

He is considered armed and dangerous
