Massage Therapist Found Dead In Anaheim Apartment

ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) — A massage therapist was found dead in her home in Anaheim over the weekend.

Police said Saturday afternoon, Rosa Romero, who runs a therapeutic massage business, was waiting for a client to meet her at the apartment she shared with her three sons and her husband in the 1000 block of West Broadway.

"In her ads for that business, she used a different name: Senora Rocio," said Sgt. Bob Dunn of the Anaheim Police Department.

Romero's son, Carlos, said the family was usually around when the clients were in the home.

KCAL9's Stacey Butler reported that by 7:15 p.m. Saturday night, the victim had been alone, possibly with a client, when her two teen sons found her near her massage table in a pool of blood.

"They came and found her. The worst place. It was home. I have to start a new home with my brothers," said Carlos.

Carlos said his mother would always text or phone prospective clients before they arrived.

Police, however, were unable to recover the phone at the scene. They said robbery doesn't appear to be a motive, but they haven't recovered a weapon or identified a suspect.

Authorities said they have no indication Romero was doing anything illegal.

Carlos said if clients asked his mother for anything more than a massage, she would turn them away.
