Crews Fully Contain 25-Acre Brush Fire Along Northbound 5 Freeway In Castaic
CASTAIC (CBSLA.com) — Crews have fully contained a 25-acre brush fire near the northbound 5 Freeway in Castaic.
At approximately 4 p.m., a truck carrying bales of hay caught fire and pulled to the side of the freeway, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The flames spread to brush on a hillside two miles north of Templin Highway.
Approximately 170 firefighters and aircraft were used to bring the blaze under control shortly after 6 p.m., said Nathan Judy, of the Angeles National Forest.
