SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — A Redlands high school teacher who gave birth to a baby allegedly fathered by her teen student is facing more sex charges.

KNX 1070’s Mike Landa reported that Laura Elizabeth Whitehurst, 28, was re-arrested Monday and charged with 41 felony counts of unlawful sexual intercourse and oral copulation involving three minors.

Her bail was raised from $25,000 to $750,000, according to Christopher Lee, a spokesman for the San Bernardino County district attorney’s office.

Whitehurst, who worked at Citrus Valley High School, was initially arrested July 1 after being accused of having the baby of a then-16-year-old student. She was released after posting bail.

Two more male victims later claimed to have had sexual contact with the instructor while they were minors.

If convicted, Whitehurst faces up to 29 years in state prison.

Anyone with information about other possible victims of Whitehurst was asked to contact Det. Natasha Crawford at (909) 798-7623 or the San Bernardino County DA’s office at (909) 382-3660.
