MISSION VIEJO (CBSLA.com) — One person suffered second- and third-degree burns Monday in a fire at Saddleback College, officials said.

The fire broke out around 6:40 a.m. in the business and general studies (BGS) building on campus, the Orange County Fire Authority said.

The victim was airlifted to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana for treatment, according to fire officials.

“Classes in the BGS building are cancelled today,” the college posted on its website.

Damage estimates were not immediately available.

The Orange County Fire Authority was expected to issue a report on the fire Monday afternoon.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
