CARSON (CBSLA.com) — LA Galaxy center back Omar Gonzalez will face off against AS Roma from Italy in the 2013 MLS All-Star game, the team announced on Sunday.

The 24-year-old Gonzalez is among ten players named to the All-Star team.

“Joining him on the list is former Galaxy and current Chicago Fire forward Mike Magee, who has scored 11 goals this season,” according to a statement issued by the team.

An eleventh player is expected to be announced on July 11.

The team said that the All-Star selection for Fan IX marked the third for Gonzalez. He was previously chosen to join the team in 2010 and 2011.

The televised game will be played on July 31, at Sporting Park in Kansas City, Kansas.
