SAN DIMAS (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Saturday arrested a 57-year-old man after a six-hour standoff with police.

The man, now identified as Michael Zerrudo, allegedly threatened his son with a firearm then holed up inside his San Dimas home.

The standoff occurred in the 100 block of Calle Renata. It started just after 7:35 a.m. Saturday and lasted until Zerrudo surrendered at 1:50 p.m.

A SWAT team responded to the location as well as a team from the LA County Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Bureau.

Zerrudo will be charged with assault with a deadly weapon, according to Sgt. David Buckner.
