LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Los Angeles Police Department Friday asked the public to be on the lookout for a missing man.

The father of Dylan Cooper says it is out-of-character for his son to disappear, KNX 1070's Ed Mertz. Dale Cooper said family members have continually called his son's cell phone which was initially going to voice-mail.

Now, Dale says, the phone is turned off.

The 26-year-old Cooper was last seen Tuesday by his roommate at a Denny's restaurant in East Hollywood around 2 a.m.

The family also says they have checked with the morgue and there are no "John Does" who match his description. Cooper is a white male with a shaved head and brown eyes. He is 5-feet, 9-inches tall and weighs approximately 230 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a black shirt, black pants, and a black baseball cap, according to the LAPD. He has an image of a girl tattooed on his left shoulder and arm and a large cross tattooed on his inner right arm.

Anyone with information about Cooper's whereabouts is asked to call Detective Saiza with the LAPD Missing Persons unit at (213) 996-1800 or 1-877-LAPD-24-7 during non-business hours.
