LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Wednesday released a composite sketch of a suspect they said shot a man in the head on the 110 Freeway.

Eloy Schneck, 41, was shot while driving north between Manchester and Florence avenues about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Officials say he remains in serious condition.

“The victim was targeted and, based on the person involved, it was gang-related,” Sgt. Rudy Lopez said.

Police initially said the suspect, believed to be black and 20-30 years old, may have been in an older model Nissan Sentra, possibly black.

A passenger in Schneck’s white Pontiac Grand Am was not hurt.
