STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — From a pizza shop in Harlem to performing on the biggest stages worldwide, “The Sugarhill Gang” rose to stardom with the Top 40 hit “Rapper’s Delight” in 1979.
But then things changed and not for the better.
On Sunday morning, Wonder Mike and Master Gee formerly of “The Sugarhill Gang” appeared on KCAL9 News to discuss their new DVD titled, “I Want My Name Back.”
The documentary tells their untold story of a fight to get their personal stage names back after leaving their record label.
The men have since formed “Rapper’s Delight” ft. Wonder Mike & Master Gee and are currently touring.
